THE National Printing Office is targeting to complete the printing of 67.4 million ballots for the 2022 polls by April, the Commission on Elections said on Tuesday.

The poll official said the timetable was based on the capacity of their three printers, which could print 1.1 million ballots per day at peak performance. Of these, 1,697,202 will be for overseas voters, while the remaining 65,745,512 ballots will be for local voters.Flores said they would prioritize printing the ballots for overseas and absentee voters before coming out with the ballots for local voters, which will be printed per region.

“We are printing them ahead of time because as we know, the overseas ballots will have to be deployed abroad and that voting abroad is one month in advance,” she added.
