Senator Grace Poe on Wednesday, September 15, appealed to local government units not to employ the “shock and awe” tactic in implementing granular lockdowns within their jurisdictions, and give residents a fair amount of time to prepare.
“We appeal to local government units not to resort to the shock and awe method of enforcing granular lockdowns in communities. Households should be given reasonable warning before their areas are sealed and secured,” Poe, chairperson of the Senate Committee on Public Services, said in a statement. Poe said workers should also be given enough time to return home and inform their offices or workplace of their expected absence “so their jobs will not be put at risk.”
