Should Catholic churches add more masses to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease ?Father Jerome Secillano, executive secretary of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines Public Affairs Committee, said this in reaction to the suggestion of the Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III who thought of dispersing the crowds that attend mass in churches, in an effort to prevent the spread of the virus.
“There’s a papal indult given to the Philippine Church to say masses more than once. I’m not sure how many,” said Secillano. But if there are special occasions such as All Souls’ Day, he said they are given permission to conduct more masses.
What Filipinos need are more faith.
