CEBU CITY, Philippines -- Cebu City will not be appealing to the national Interagency Task Force (IATF) over their recommendation to place the city under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine

He said he would want public transportation to continue operating, some establishments to remain open, and for borders to remain open as well because the economy cannot stop.He said the city cannot afford a lockdown, but he will still not make a formal appeal against the MECQ just yet. “Appeal is not the solution. Now ang importante is review what is under MECQ. If we will appeal, we will appeal as one island,” said the acting mayor.

Second, Rama wants the Cebu City Quarantine Center to be placed under the Department of Health so that it can be manned by the agency.

No walk-ins allowed in Cebu City Vax centersCEBU CITY, Philippines — The Cebu City Health Department (CHD) is appealing to the public not to go to the vaccination center when they have not received a schedule yet. Dr. Jeffrey Ibones, CHD head, said that the public had been flocking to the vaccine sites where the first dose for the A4 priority group […] Now that the mighty delta is here, please open more vaccination sites and make it 24/7. Time is of the essence. Consider this scenario. Knowing delta is already around, and sinovac isnt delta resilient, would people go to vax centers if they know it’s sinovac that will be jabbed? It’s not vax hesitancy. Vax brand availability. The way the Cebu City government is handling vaccination sites is a mess. There's no clear system put in place and why not allow walk-ins? You should vaccinate as many as you can to avoid a disaster with the Delta variant already here.
