Romeo Baleros, Negros Occidental police director (Glazyl Masculino / MANILA BULLETIN FILE PHOTO) Although the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) has two to three investigators in each police station, Col. Romeo Baleros, Negros Occidental director, said they still needed additional investigators to focus on significant cases, and to replace those who will undergo schooling. Baleros said the Provincial Investigation and Detection Management Branch usually augment the station’s investigators to help in handling significant cases. Baleros said that a minimum of four investigators was ideal for a city police station, but the deployment of more investigators in some areas depend on the volume of cases they handle, adding that there are places which have minimal number of cases. Recently, two batches of policemen finished the criminal investigation course. He said his goal is to make all policemen capable of doing the investigation procedure. “The 1,900 policemen in Negros should be investigators,” he said. In Bacolod City, Lt. Col. Ariel Pico, public information officer of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said the police stations here should also have at least four investigators to hasten the investigation process. At present, all 10 police stations here have two investigators each. Related Posts Read more: Manila Bulletin News
