More than 300 police medical frontliners have already been vaccinated as the Philippine National Police (PNP) expects to complete the inoculation for the Sinovac doses allocated for 800 police medical personnel this week.

Lt. Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, deputy chief for Administration and concurrent commander of the PNP’s Administrative Support for COVID-19 Task Force , said they expect the number of inoculated PNP personnel to rise as 200 more are scheduled today.

He said that a total of 125 PNP frontliners were vaccinated on Monday and another 180 on Tuesday. Supposed, almost 400 PNP personnel have been vaccinated on Monday and Tuesday but 80 of those were supposed to get the vaccine did not show up.The PNP has scheduled 200 vaccinations per day in order to prevent overcrowding. It expects to finish the vaccination for the PNP this week.

As a law enforcement unit tapped for frontline duties, the PNP has already recorded 11,420 infections in its ranks since last year, 31 of them died. But the recovery rate was high as 10,926 of those who were infected were able to recover.
