A total of 3,538 examinees passed the 2020 Physician Licensure Exams according to the results posted by the Professional Regulation Commission on Thursday.
The PRC said the results were released seven working days after the conduct of exams in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga. Jomel Garcia Lapides, a graduate of the University of the Philippines Manila, topped this year's board exams for aspiring physicians with a score of 88.67%.
Also included in the Top 10 passers was UP College of Medicine magna cum laude and 2020 class valedictorian Tiffany Uy, who finished fifth in this year's exams. She is known for holding the highest grade in UP's history after World War II when she achieved a near-perfect general weighted average of 1.004 in 2015.
Tricia Robredo, daughter of Vice President Leni Robredo, was also among those who aced the 2020 Physician Licensure Exams. She graduated with a dual degree in Doctor of Medicine and Master of Business Administration from the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health last July.
