Miss Universe titleholders Catriona Gray and Pia Wurtzbach raised their voices on Wednesday in support of media giant ABS-CBN, which shut down its operation the day before as ordered by the National Telecommunications Commission. | KHallareINQ

“I spent most of my teenage years in the halls of ABSCBN, attending workshops, doing rehearsals, tapings and even attending classes ABSCBN was a home for me,” Wurtzbach said.

“It is also home to 11,000 employees and is in the homes of almost every Filipino family,” she added. Wurtzbach that she would stand by her ABS-CBN family, hoping that its current situation was “just a challenge.”to ABS-CBN after its legislative franchise expired on Monday, May 4. Under the Radio Control Law, or Republic Act No. 3846, “no person, firm, company, association, or corporation shall construct, install, establish, or operate a radio transmitting station, or radio receiving station used for commercial purposes, or a radio broadcasting station, without having first obtained a franchise therefor from the Congress of the Philippines.”

But bills on the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN had remained pending for years before the House Committee on Legislative Franchises.

khallareINQ The sensible move is to solidify and mobilized the rank and recruit from from the opposite side - especially the ambivalent. Antagonizing them is counter productive.

khallareINQ Ah okay. Hindi po ito beauty contest question to raise your voice Ms Gray and Ms Wurzbach.

khallareINQ Wala na kasing kita Mga ipokrita Wag na kayong makisawsaw Wala kayong alam sa politika Ayusin nyo na lang mga hugis nyo!

khallareINQ Please lend your voices as well MissUniverse

khallareINQ Two thumbs up for Pia Wurtzbach (PiaWurtzbach) and Catriona Gray (catrionaelisa). One rare moment when Miss Universe from the Philippines would deliver a powerful statement to politics.

khallareINQ I think, Pia supports Duterte while Catriona doesn't but BOTH try to appear neutral as they, as Philippine's Misses Universe, represent the unifying force of the country. Let them be.

khallareINQ I have noticed Pia have turned off her comments on IG. Scared of being bashed? Someone told me she is a DDS too.

khallareINQ Beauty and brains and good sense of justice, knowing what’s right
