Despite the fear of a surge in coronavirus infections next month and an Omicron subvariant entering the country, the government’s pandemic task force has decided to keep the National Capital Region and many other areas in the Philippines under Alert Level 1, Malacañang announced.

In a statement, Andanar said that the Inter-agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases decided to retain the entire Metro Manila under Alert Level 1 effective May 1 to May 15, 2022.According to the IATF, there are 77 whole provinces, HUCs, and ICCs in Alert Level 1. Counting by cities and municipalities, there are 944 of the total of 1,634 cities and municipalities in the said classification.

Region X: Tudela, Misamis Occidental; Baroy, Lanao del Norte; Lala, Lanao del Norte; and Tubod, Lanao del NorteRegion XII: City of Koronadal, South Cotabato; Arakan, North Cotabato; and Lebak, Sultan Kudarat
