In Parañaque, Mayor Edwin Olivarez said they would use only 1, 500 doses of the vaccine on Tuesday in order to avoid overcrowding in the city’s vaccination hub at Ayala Mall in Manila Bay. “Hindi po natin ito uubusin ngayon para hindi po siya magkaroon ng congestion,” he said in a Teleradyointerview.“May mga araw po ‘yan hanggang maubos po natin itong tatlong libong ito.”
The cities of Makati and Taguig, meanwhile, launched the administration of Sputnik V in Makati Coliseum and Lakeshore Vaccination Park, respectively. On Monday, May 3, the national government gave Manila, Makati, Parañaque, Taguig, and Muntinlupa cities 3,000 doses each from the initial 15,000 doses of Sputnik V that arrived in the Philippines on May 1.Muntinlupa City’s information officer Tez Navarro told INQUIRER.net in a text message that the local government’s rollout of Sputnik V will be on Wednesday, May 5, at the Ospital ng Muntinlupa.
