The Manila Electric Company announced on Tuesday that it is suspending disconnection activities in areas under strict quarantine restrictions to help ease the burden of its affected customers.
In a statement, the power distributor said there will be no disconnection in Laguna from Aug. 1 to 15 and in the National Capital Region from Aug. 6 to 20. The company also assured that it will be “very considerate” for customers in areas under general community quarantine. Customers, especially those with billing concerns, are also encouraged to reach out to Meralco through online platforms before heading to its business centers to avoid lining up.
If I am reading this right, meralco 's August 6-20 no disconnection policy is not enough. This should be at least 2-weeks extended since some of the workers are not earning for that period. Make them at least earn first enough money to pay for their necessities.
That is good news becaisewe are now not working the problem comes when the restriction are lifted along comes the meralco leters please give people time after restriction s to get going again
