After three weeks of tension due to the surge in coronavirus disease infections that perilously classified Metro Manila under “critical risk”, the Department of Health said the National Capital Region may now be downgraded to “high risk” classification.

This was supported by the assessment made by the OCTA Research Group that the reproduction number in Metro Manila has gone down to below one percent. Other developments include the granting of special certification by the Food and Drug Administration for the use of two antigen self-test kits. President Duterte has signed law the Microgrid Systems Act that will accelerate the electrification of underserved and unserved areas nationwide.Photo shows the progress being made at the Light Rail Transit 1 Cavite expansion project in Baclaran, Paranaque City. Construction was recently suspended to make way for the migration of a new signaling system as part of the project’s modernization.
