GENERAL SANTOS CITY - Nakalabas na ng ospital noong Huwebes si Malapatan Mayor Exodus Sumbo matapos na magkasakit, maging kritikal, at kalaunan ay gumaling sa COVID-19.
Kuwento ng alkalde, nakaramdam siya ng sintomas tulad ng pag-ubo at hirap sa paghinga kaya nagdesisyon siyang magpacheck-up. Dagdag pa ni Sumbo, hindi naging madali ang pinagdaanan niya para labanang mag-isa ang COVID-19 sa ospital. Natakot din siya na baka hindi na siya makabalik nang buhay sa kanyang pamilya.
"Nagdasal talaga ako sa Panginoon kasi baka hindi na ako mabuhay at di ko makita pamilya ko, sabi ko sana gumaling ako dahil marami pa akong misyon sa Malapatan, nagsisimula pa lang kasi ako," ani Sumbo. Aminado si Sumbo na hindi siya naniniwala noon sa COVID-19 pero nag-iba ang lahat nang siya mismo ang nakaranas nito."Hindi mo talaga ako ma-convince noon sa COVID-19 pero ngayon sabihin ko sa inyo maniwala kayo sa COVID-19... I underestimated ang COVID-19," pag-amin ng mayor.Nagpasalamat at saludo si Sumbo sa lahat ng frontliners na nag-aaruga sa kaniya.
