MANILA - The Philippine National Police on Saturday launched the first all-female police force in the country in Maria town, Siquijor. The team was handpicked by Police Col.

Angela Rejano, director of Siquijor Police Provincial Office.

"Wala naman pong limitasyon para sa isang babae na i-limit 'yung functions nila sa mga administrative at desk function. Pwede naman po silang mag-excel pa sa ibang aspeto ng trabaho namin bilang isang pulis," she told radio DZMM. "Having initiated this new concept of gender and development for policewomen in Siquijor, the Mariang Pulis signals the time to move forward in promoting the vision and mission of the PNP in creating an opportunity for women to strengthen their role in the context of policing in the law enforcement pillar," she said in a statement.Watch more in iWant or TFC.tv

All-women police station launched in Maria town, SiquijorTwenty-one female cops are on duty in the country's first all-women police station. They should change those uniforms though. They should be able to opt for pants if they prefer, especially when out on the field. I hope they can withstand an attack by a platoon of heavily armed NPA rebels or other terrorist groups 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 let us support our police officers. Way to go, ladies! Good luck in all you do. Pilipinas
