PRESIDENT Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. on Wednesday said he is inclined to extend the state of public health emergency until the end of the year amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Former president Rodrigo Duterte first declared a state of public health emergency throughout the country on March 8, 2020, due to the pandemic.The declaration, which is set to expire on Sept. 12,2022, remains 'in force and effect' until withdrawn or lifted by the President, according to Proclamation 922.
