The newly renovated Manila Zoo in Malate, Manila is set to become a mass vaccination site for minors and senior citizens starting Wednesday, Jan. 19, Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso announced on Tuesday, Jan. 18.

“Tomorrow, we are opening the new Manila Zoo wherein kids and elderly can go to Manila Zoo starting 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.,” said Domagoso during a city update livestream.Minors aged 12 to 17 can avail of both first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccine while senior citizens can get their booster shot at the Manila Zoo vaccination site.

Prior to vaccination, minor and senior citizens must first pre-register through the Manila Health Department’s online vaccination registration which can be found here: www.manilacovid19vaccine.ph Afterwards, those wanting to get vaccinated in Manila Zoo must pre-register for tickets online through the Manila Zoo online registration facility which can be found here: www.manilazoo.phMeanwhile, the Manila city government is waiting for the Department of Health’s go-signal and for shipments of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine authorized by the Food and Drug Administration before starting the vaccination of minors aged five to 11.

“In fact, may naka-rehistro na sa amin almost 5,000 five to 11 years old, in-enroll ng magulang ,” added Domagoso.
