Local government units (LGUs) are expected to receive the cash assistance for the most financially-hit sectors within a day or two as the country is facing a crisis due to the coronavirus disease pandemic.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development said on Monday that it has already sent instructions to its field offices.

“We have now the instructions to our field offices, considering that we have already distributed the social amelioration cards that will be given to target beneficiaries. In a day or two, we can immediately distribute the cash assistance and this will be provided to the local government units,” DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista told CNN Philippines.
