Kidapawan suspends gov't work, classes due to 4.3-M earthquake

KIDAPAWAN CITY, Cotabato - Classes and government work in Kidapawan City were suspended on Thursday following a 4.3-magnitude earthquake.

The city government will have to check the structural integrity of buildings and other structures, its mayor Joseph Evangelista said. The tremor struck around 9 a.m., with its epicenter located 55 kilometers west of Cotabato's Makilala town, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said. Meanwhile, no one was reported injured in Makilala town, its vice mayor Ryan Tabanay said in a text message.
