— Years after Kathy Griffin shaved her head in solidarity with her sister who was undergoing chemotherapy, the comedian and actress has announced she has lung cancer.
"I'm about to go into surgery to have half of my left lung removed," the note continued."Yes, I have lung cancer even though I've never smoked!" The star's expectation is that she will not have to undergo chemotherapy or radiation and that she should"be up and running around as usual in a month or less," the note read.
She ended the note encouraging her followers to stay up-to-date on their medical checkups. Lung cancer is the third most common cancer in the US, according to the CDC.
