Jordan’s health ministry announced Saturday that Covid-19 vaccines will now be available for children aged 12 and above.

A minor receives a dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine against COVID-19 at a vaccination center in Asuncion, on July 23, 2021. Paraguay started to inoculate children and teenagers from 12 to 17 years-old with underlying diseases.

“Vaccination will be optional, and those under 18 will be able to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine with the consent of their guardian,” the statement added. Some 1.9 million people have been fully inoculated against Covid-19, while 2.7 million have received an initial vaccine dose.
