MANILA —Severe tropical storm Jolina made landfall in Torrijos town, Marinduque early Wednesday morning, according to the state weather bureau.
Due to its strength, tropical cyclone wind Signal No. 2 was maintained over the following areas due to likely damaging gale-force winds brought by the storm:In the next 24 hours, PAGASA said heavy to intense with at times torrential rains will fall on: The agency warned of further scattered to widespread flooding and rain-induced landslides in affected areas. The storm earlier triggered floods in parts of the Bicol and the Eastern Visayas regions.
"In addition, coastal areas of localities under TCWS, especially those at #2 may also experience coastal flooding due to hazardous surf conditions," it said. "Sea travel is risky for all types of seacrafts over these waters. Mariners without the proper experience should immediately seek safe harbor," it said.
