THE HAGUE – Kahit nagsimula nang magluwag ang lockdown sa The Netherlands matapos ang mahigit dalawang buwan, marami pa ring Pilipino dito ang nangangailangan ng tulong.

Bagama't may safety nets ang mga manggagawa kung sila ay may may kontrata o freelancer, maraming migranteng Pinoy ang nawalan ng trabaho at hindi nakakatanggap ng sahod.Ayon kay Eunice de Asis ng Migrante-Amsterdam, matinding tinamaan ng COVID-19 lockdown ay ang may halos 30,000 undocumented na mga Pilipino.“Nawalan sila ng trabaho dahil ang karamihan sa kanila ay mga domestic workers o house cleaners, baby sitters, dish washers sa mga restaurant, ito iyong mga industriya na nagsara.

Ayon pa kay van de Beek-Pavia, ang pagkakaisa ng mga Filipino organizations sa The Netherlands ay mahalaga dahil mas marami ang maaabot, mas malawak ang magiging serbisyo at mas malaki ang network of support ng mga kababayan.Bagaman may limitasyon, tinitingnan ng grupo ang pangmatagalang solusyon sa kinahaharap ng mga vulnerable na mga Pilipino dahil kahit naalis na ang lockdown at ang iba ay nakabalik na sa trabaho, hindi kaagad-agad na magiging normal ang lahat.
