January 31, 2022

Active cases stand at 202,864 while the number of those who recuperated from the infection reached 3,288,925 including 27,638 newly recorded recoveries. Last week, a decision was also announced that unvaccinated and partially vaccinated workers will be barred from using public transportation in Metro Manila beginning Feb. 25, even if their work is considered essential, after an agreement was reached by the DOTr, Department of the Interior and Local Government , and the Department of Labor and Employment.

With the campaign period approaching, the DILG chief added that candidates need to follow government, local government and Commission on Election rules on campaigning amid the pandemic.
