In an interview with State-run PTV-4, presidential spokesman Harry Roque announced that the IATF made the decision to allow Filipinos to celebrate Christmas during the pandemic.
“Siguro naman kahit papano magkaroon naman tayo ng pagpapatuloy ng ating mga Christmas traditions bagamat 30 percent lang po ang ating pupuwedeng Simbang Gabi ,” he added. “Dahil ang mga Pilipino naman po ay sumusunod sa ating Presidente na nagmamask, naghuhugas, at nagiiwas, nakikita naman po natin na bumubuti kasi ang numero ,” Roque said.
“Nandiyan na rin ang katotohanan na ang mga Metro Manila mayors po ay nag-agree na rin na ang curfew pagdating ng a-uno ng Disyembre ay gagawing 12-3 para tayo ay makapag-Simbang Gabi ,” he said.
