MANILA - Following a string of protests for the scrapping of the controversial anti-terrorism bill, many university students and alumni reported Sunday that suspicious Facebook accounts were created bearing their names, prompting some school officials to reach out to the privacy commission to address the issue.
According to Facebook's Community Standards, "[c]reating a profile assuming the persona of or speaking for another person or entity" is against its policy, so one may report these profiles for pretending to be someone else. Due to limited reviewers that can accommodate requests because of the coronavirus pandemic, expect that Facebook cannot reply immediately.1. Go to the profile page of the account you want to report. Click the three dots and select "Find support or Report Profile."
2. Select "Pretending to be Someone" if the profile you are reporting is either you, your Facebook friend, or a celebrity. 3. Facebook will require you to enter the name of your friend who you claim is a victim of an impostor. Type the name of your friend and proceed. 4. Facebook will ask if the profile you are reporting is against its Community Standards. Click the box and report. It is still unknown if the suspicious accounts that surfaced Sunday were caused by an internal glitch or deliberately created by a group of people.

if you have LinkedIn, disable or set it on private especially if you don't need it at the moment. We tend to write our names in full, and declare education/work history in job/professional sites. hay sobrang weird ng mga tao ngayon
It's better to report it as it is: FAKE ACCOUNT
Look!! Facebook can track every site and app you visit. 🧐
We have come to a point in the Philippines that waking up with fake accounts meant you stood up for something right! 🇵🇭

So ganito pala ang kalakaran ngayon. Ang kokontra sa anumang panukala ng gobyerno, tatakutin hanggang makulong. Galing. Ang galing-galing.

Gawan din natin ng fake accounts yung mga DDS.
OK. So now, imagine that newly-created copycat Facebook profile that bears your name posts something seditious or something that incites violent acts against the government...
