The House Committee on Transportation is eyeing to come up with a

“solid and viable” one-year roadmap to finally address the monstrous traffic situation along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue .Samar Rep. Edgar Mary Sarmiento, chairman of the panel, said they started consulting with all transportation stakeholders to come up with the roadmap as instructed by Speaker Allan Peter Cayetano.

The House leader said his informal discussions with various government officials and private sector leaders would pave the way for a series of panel hearings that will specifically focus on how to solve the traffic problem. He observed that too many bus units are plying the EDSA, citing that 3,000 to 4,000 city buses are being operated by 200 different franchises or two dozen or more operators or owners.

He said it is impossible for the government to create a centralized and synchronized dispatching system because of the “kanya-kanya” system of the city bus operators. He said his panel has been directed by Speaker Cayetano to look into the practice of boundary system in bus companies.

'He said it is impossible for the government to create a centralized and synchronized dispatching system because of the “kanya-kanya” system of the city bus operators.' - I already designed a dispatch system. If I can do it, so can the government. It's not rocket science.
