The House of Representatives approved on third and final reading the controversial anti-terrorism bill that wasWith 173 affirmative votes, 31 negative, and 29 abstention, House Bill 6875 or the Anti-Terrorism Bill repeals the Human Security Act of 2007 by giving more surveillance powers to the government forces.
The police and the military can now track down suspected individuals or organizations and record discussions or communications supposedly regarding terrorism.Anyone who threatens to commit terrorism, perform, or incite others to do any such act will be penalized with an imprisonment of 12 years.as it only needs his signature after ratification before submitting it to President Rodrigo Duterte.
“Hindi ito pwede madaliin; kailangang mapakinggan ang iba’t-ibang tining sa pagpapanday ng batas. Lalo na dahil maraming mga probisyon na maaring ma-misinterpret o maabuso,” she added.
AlyssaValdez2 ano po masasabi nyo d2?
of course it does! JunkTerrorBillNow
Wouldn't the current administration be classified as terrorists, then? Or would that be too ironic?
Section 15 PENALTY FOR PUBLIC OFFICIALS This is it pansit.... kung sino man sila... migrate na do your thing somewhere else. ✋
This law is so vague and encompassing that it could be used to silence the opposition and critics just like that. Ang lala. JUNKTERRORBILLNOW
I suppprt Anti-Terror Bill!
yung away-kalye terrorism na pala.😂
Baket naka * lang ung hindi kasali? Eh sa draft bill these items belong in the same paragraph. paulsalarm
I stand with JunkTerrorBilllNow but for the reason na ang problematic ang pagtukoy sino ang tunay na terorista. Batay ba ang depinisyon na ginamit sa universal definition of terrorism Natanong man lang ba ang mismong mga biktima ng violent extremism
Это правда?
This could’ve been perfectly applied to someone I know, fulfills some of the description above. BUT, there are laws applicable to such behaviors.
Penalty for public officials, sino kaya ang unang ma sasamplelan. Meron ba talagang public officials supporting such kind of groups. This is interesting. 🤔
Tapos pagnagkamali ng pagaresto tataniman ng explosives devices and weapons. This bill will be used by power hungry politicians, police and army. Specially ng mga killer cops, kotong cops ng PNP. Who are deemed terrorist? Sila sila ren diba?
The so-called safeguards are useless. Even in the absence of the anti-terror bill, government has already vilified activists, critics & dissenters as terrorists. Plus filing trump up criminal charges such as murder, illegal possession of guns & ammo etc. JUNKTERRORBILLNOW
Should also disclose what they removed from the repealed RA 9372: The Grievance Committee and Damages for Unproven Charge of Terrorism. Took away these guarantees of accountability and sokid protection against abuse of law enforcement.
Who decides the 'terrorist' organization? Since when has police 'reported within 24 hours'? 12,000 tokhang dead with no police documentation provided by PNP/OSG despite SC orders? Not only the law, also the disbelief this administration will obey rightfully for dissenters.
I hope everyone will read and comprehend this. Not immediately bandwagon hate about it😥😥
You've missed the safeguards of the bill. The opposers clearly didn't read it.
Wow dami na shares and retweets, overtime ang yellow trolls!! Hahahahaha
If social media is truly the sentiment of the people, Mocha would have been a Congresswoman by now. Hashtags and Twitter trends are irrelevant.
It’s talking about terrorism. Why should you be afraid about it? Are you a terrorist or a supporter of a terrorist? The absence of this law is the reason we had Marwani, BIFF, ISIS, the notorious Abu Sayyaf, and many more.
Overly broad and easy to abuse for partisan political purposes
Those who oppose this most probably has not experienced yet the terror in Mindanao.
