“He’s a nice person”: Duterte praises Trump

The President said Trump’s nice demeanor was the reason he would never curse or castigate the U.S. leader in public.

“But I don’t believe he really wants to go to war. Maybe he wants to teach some leaders also,” he added, alluding to the United States’ conflict with Iran. In his latest media interview, Duterte, known for his vulgar language, admitted that he cursed Trump’s predecessor, then-President Barack Obama, following his criticisms of Duterte’s anti-drug campaign. He claimed Obama castigated him in a press conference instead of raising the matter before a proper forum like the United Nations.

“He should have realized I was a head of sovereign state. He should have criticized me in proper venue. He should have brought a case to the United Nations rather than castigate a president of another country in a presscon, so I got mad,” Duterte said.

Ha? For real?
