In a position paper titled “Prioritize teachers in COVID-19 vaccinations” released on March 19, a total of 33 organizations are pushing for the prioritization of teachers as determined by the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group .

Citing data from the Department of Education for basic education, Commission on Higher Education for higher education, and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority for Technical and Vocational Education and Training or TVET, the groups said that the estimated number of teachers and teaching staff in the education sector – including public and private sector – is around 1.3 million or 1,180,000 teachers ; 137,000 faculty and 11,000 trainers .

Citing the latest World Bank estimate, the groups noted that “our learning-adjusted years of school will have been pushed back from 7.5 years pre-pandemic to 5.9-6.5 years, depending on the duration of further school closures and the effectiveness of distance learning.” The US Center for Disease Control included teachers as “essential workers” and they will be vaccinated after health care personnel and long-term care facility residents.

Sana pati private.

What about the students, bus drivers, guards, canteen operators, janitors, admin staff, others

This won't even suffice, most especially at this current condition where the cases have been rising. The decision should be mutual, considering only not teachers health & safety, but even with the students. Don't push for something risky. Consider better options instead.

Kapag nabakunahan ang mga teachers paano naman ang mga studyante kapag nagreopen ang schools? Ano yun okay lang na maghawaan ang mga students basta safe ang mga teachers? Anong silbi ng teachers kung walang students and vice versa?

About time to give attention to our teachers

Huwag lang naman Public School teachers, isama sa lustahan ang mga nasa Private Schools💪

Paano mga estudyante?

Gets ko pero pwede tapusin muna ang health care workers?
