The government would need P11.7 billion to pay 95,000 contact tracers if it were to reach the ideal ratio set by the World Health Organization , the Department of Health said on Thursday.

“Based on our computations, with the proposed qualifications of contact tracers, we will need P11.7 billion in three months,” she added. Meanwhile, Vergeire said the recommendation of the Interagency Taskforce on Emerging Infectious Diseases to place Metro Manila under general community quarantine was based on evidence.
