Deputy Speaker and 1Pacman Partylist Rep. Mikee Romero disclosed that Filipino nurses hired by the government may now expect a P32,053 per month basic pay.
Executive Director Rose Marie Rosete Liquete of the National Kidney and Transplant Institute appealed to nurses awaiting deployment abroad and other nursing graduates without jobs to fill up job openings in the NKTI. “The increase in pay came at a time when the country is battling the COVID-19 pandemic. Our nurses play a vital role in attending to infected patients and preventing the spread of the virus. Increasing their benefits is the least we can do for them,” said Romero.
Before the basic salary of government nurses was adjusted, Romero and other congressmen have filed bills fixing their compensation at Salary Grade 15.
