Gavina believes Rain or Shine’s current squad is more than capable of doing so, as the team is filled with several players—young and tested—who can play multiple positions.
“We also have guys who are great with the open floor. We have Nambatac, we have Mocon, Now, we have our young guys Tolentino and Wong who are extremely athletic players who could really finish,” the 42-year-old mentor, whose coached Kia to the franchise’s only quarterfinal stint, added. “Guys [bought] in, because that’s what coach Caloy has set up, and I’ve been privileged to kind of learn a lot from that.”
“We felt that some of our guys had to get in shape while they were in there. And that’s one of the main things we’re taking into this season,” Gavina said.
