Fresh COVID-19 cases show ‘accurate picture’ of PH situation — DOH

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire issued the statement after 46 fresh cases were reported by the DOH on Friday.

“Kung itong fresh cases— ang pagbabasihan natin dahil ito ang mas magpapabigay sa’tin ng mas accurate na picture of our situation— Makikita niyo na from 109 fresh cases nung May 28 bumaba sa 46 fresh cases yesterday May 29. Itong pagbaba pong ito ay makikita natin bilang magandang indikasyon ng estado sa ating bansa,” Vergeire said in an online press briefing.

Maam naman. Nahawa ka na sa boss mo. Hindi ka naman ganito noon. Bat po kayo magpapalamon sa mga yan. Quit while your credibility is intact. Stay safe, stay credible!

Gimme' a break numbers are infinite dear. Do the math just count the numbers of positive or negative. That's it.

The problem right now is that, we're manipulating the story in interpreting the data to justify the actions that we want for June 1, because we want NCR to move to GCQ. If we want to move to GCQ, fine, but you don't twist the data saying to ignore the late cases.

Do they realize that not all fresh cases are being counted today because of the delay in testing. That some of the fresh case today will be only reported days later. Is it accurate picture if say we got 10 fresh case today but other 50 cases will be reported 4 days later?

CMarquezINQ There should be no distinction between “fresh” and “late” cases. Late cases are still confirmed and active covid cases which can still infect people. In fact, late cases are defined as more than 4 days late only.
