Around 2,000 watermelon plants were burned in a fire that was set off by a still unknown suspect in Barangay Pulot Shore, Sofronio Española town, Feb. 20, 2020 According to Nerlyn Amod, owner of the watermelon plantation, said the watermelons were supposed to be harvested next month.“I was shocked when I arrived home. My brother and brothers-in-law were not at home when the incident happened. They did not notice who or when fire started. We are so disappointed because we are about to harvest the fruit next month and we just borrowed the capital,” Amod said.“We don’t have any suspect because our family are in good terms with the residents in barangay.
