In a phone conference with reporters on November 24, 2020, Labella, who is also a lawyer, said that he condemns the killing of a brother in the legal profession for “doing his job.” The mayor also said that lawyers should not be the target of violence for doing their job objectively. The mayor ordered the police to go all out and solve the case so that lawless elements will be given a warning that criminal acts are not welcome in the city.Since the suspects of the lawyer’s shooting were two people on board a motorcycle or a riding in tandem, the mayor ordered the intensified checkpoint for motorcycle backriders.
