MANILA, Philippines – Labor groups and activists across the country commemorated the 159th birth anniversary of revolutionary leader Andres Bonifacio on Wednesday, November 30, with protests and calls for better living conditions, especially for ordinary workers.
“We vow to pursue Bonifacio’s struggle under new conditions. Workers fight for wage hikes, secure jobs and labor rights to defend their living conditions,” the labor rights activist said. Kabataan Partylist also joined demands for a general wage increase, lower prices of basic commodities, and cash assistance for the poor. Young workers are the lifeblood of our labor force and deserve better and fair working conditions.
