MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine national team impressed in a 30-point demolition of Indonesia, but the game also showed that they have plenty to work on.

This, according to Thirdy Ravena, who shone brightest for Gilas Pilipinas on Sunday after scoring 23 points off the bench in their 100-70 win.

The final margin of victory belied the competitiveness of the game. The Philippines had no answer for Andakara Prastawa in the first half, and settled for a 37-28 lead at the break. Indonesia got to within four points, 55-51, with under 3 minutes to go in the third quarter and seemed to have momentum on their side.

Thirdy was pleased with their chemistry, as displayed by Gilas' 23 assists in the game. They also showed solid communication on defense, holding Indonesia to only 36% shooting for the game. Even Prastawa cooled down considerably after his hot start, though he still finished with 28 points.
