“If I had my way, I would have the lockdown earlier, on the time of Wuhan lockdown in retrospect,” said Inter-Agency Task Force adviser Dr. Anthony Leachon in a virtual presser on Thursday.
He noted that this would have prevented travellers from mainland China to go outside of their country. Leachon is optimistic that the country is slowing down its cases of COVID-19 transmission, yet he said it is still too early to confirm that.“Some of the results are not real time because of the limitation of the RITM , and perhaps most of these results are backlog of the previous ones,” he said.Further, Leachon said that the government must not be complacent as other Asian countries like Singapore and Japan are experiencing a second wave of COVID-19 outbreak.
