In a speech at the 80th Anniversary of the Department of National Defense on Wednesday night, November 20, Duterte asserted his word alone was enough to implement the order and that an executive order that would put it into writing could be put off for later.
Duterte had just given the verbal order in a late night press conference on Tuesday, November 19, following theDuterte's remark undermines the judicial branch, which is co-equal with the Executive in its power. It's also the latest show of the Duterte administration's disregard for the independence of the judiciary and the role of lawyers.
Duterte attempted to justify his order by saying the drastic measure was needed"especially if it's to protect the lives of people."
It's not disrespect. It is plain affirmation of a shameful fact!
I thought separate ang legislative, judicial and executive branches of government?
Ano na CJ Peralta, no comment? Inaatake independence ng judiciary, kahit comment lang, sayang sahod mo.
its the pattern again..Duterte chooses an issue which is popular, easy to understand and makes sweeping pronouncements to make him look like he is in control...habang patuloy na naghihirap magsasaka, sira pa rin ang Marawi,we are being technically invaed by China
At abugado pa sya nyan ha. Alam naman dapat nya na hindi nya under ang sumpreme court. Mahilig manakot pero takot na takot sa Bise.
Utos ng pangit na hari, d mababali daw
Emperador daw kc sya? Kaya walang pwedeng bumali sa kautusan nya? 😂😂😂 emperador ng mga DEdeebs na TANGA!
