With the looming retirement of current Philippine National Police Director-General Oscar Albayalde, Go clarified that President Duterte’s decision to bring with him some police generals in his just-concluded Russia visit is not an indicator of the possible successor for the post. “They were just invited by the President who also invited those with Medal of Valor. They were the wounded-in-action soldiers. It’s a consolation price for their services to the country,’’ he added.
“Of course the President is choosing from among those who could bring and continue the reform within PNP,” he said.
