The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Wednesday said it will start processing aid for overseas Filipino workers affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said President Duterte approved the release of P1.5 billion to DOLE for financial support to overseas workers displaced by the pandemic.

Bello said the aid program will include OFWs infected by the virus provided that they have not received any form of financial assistance from their host government or foreign employer, and those displaced by a COVID-19 lockdown imposed by the governments in their places of work.

10,000 pesos aid per OFW. Do you think the govt earned 10,000 pesos sa total remittance fee nila in a year for each OFW pra ibalik nio sa kanila. Im being deducted 10,000 monthly income tax or 120,000 a year ang npunta sa govt. Wat help did i get in return?

Inuna nio pang tulungan yan kesa sa mga middle class na taxpayers. We contributed more to the economy thru our 32% income tax witdheld monthly from our pay. Wla bnbayad na income tax yan mga yan kaya we deserve more help than them

Isang slice na pinapple.
