3 billion worth of cash aid has been released by the Department of Labor and Employment in connection with the coronavirus disease pandemic, data from Information and Publication Service Director Rolly Francia bared Wednesday, Feb. 10.According to the figures dated January 23, 2021, over 1.1 million workers have received assistance under the COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program and the Abot-Kamay Ang Pagtulong for OFWs , combined.

On the other hand, he said AKAP has “benefitted 118,416 displaced OFWs, amounting to over P1.191 billion.” The particular program provided $200 or P10,000 as one-time aid to sea-based and land-based OFWs who lost their jobs abroad as a result of the pandemic.
