The Department of Health reported on Sunday, July 25, 55 new cases of the Delta variant of coronavirus in the Philippines.Out of the 55 new cases, 37 are considered local infections, 17 are returning overseas Filipinos , while one is currently being verified if this is a local or ROF case, the DOH said.
The DOH said that of the 37 local cases, 14 were from Calabarzon , eight from Northern Mindanao, six had an indicated address in the National Capital Region , six from Central Luzon, two from Davao Region, and one from the Ilocos Region. “We call on both public and private sectors to ensure active case finding, aggressive contact tracing, immediate isolation or quarantine, and compliance to minimum public health standards in their respective localities and even workplaces,” it added.
If we have a better border control and strict quarantine of all incoming passengers maybe we have no cases of this delta variant, if the govt will not impose lockdown now we will be seeing the same of what Indonesia is experiencing now.
