BREAKING: DOH reports 29,828 new cases, bringing the national total to 3,417,216 as of January 23, 2022. Total recoveries have reached 3,090,164 (+36,763 new) while death toll is now at 53,472 (+67 new). READ:

Majority of the fresh cases were still detected in the National Capital Region, Calabarzon, and Central Luzon, the Department of Health said in its latest case update.Of the currently ill patients, 8,371 are asymptomatic, 260,399 are mild, 3,006 are moderate, 1,496 are severe, while 308 are critical.

The number of recoveries also increased to 3,090,164 and the death toll to 53,472. This after the DOH reported 36,763 additional survivors and 67 new deaths on Sunday.The intensive care unit bed utilization rate nationwide and in Metro Manila was at 51 percent and 48 percent, respectively, the DOH. In terms of ward beds, the utilization rate nationwide stood at 53 percent while 52 percent in Metro Manila.

Fifty-two percent of isolation beds nationwide are currently occupied while 46 percent in Metro Manila.
