Far-flung villages in Mindanao that have yet to be reached by the Mindanao-wide polio vaccination campaign prompted the Department of Health (DOH) to extend round 2 of the anti-polio drive to another week.

The “Sabayang Patak Kontra Polio” round 2 in Mindanao will be extended for a week, Public Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje said Monday.

“Inaala natin kasi na very mobile ang ilang population sa Mindanao, may mga delays ng pagbabakuna o pagbibigay ng report at chini-check kung mayroong ‘di pa nararating kasi nagkaroon ng problema sa peace and order at sa mga kalamidad ,” the undersecretary added.
