The Department of Education (DepEd) has launched a search which aims to recognize the role of learners in preventing the illegal use of drugs in schools in line with the government’s vision of a drug-free Philippines.

Education Secretary Leonor Briones, in DepEd memorandum no. 20 series of 2020, announced the Search for the Outstanding Learners in Drug Abuse Prevention Advocacy through the Bureau of Learner Support Services-Youth Formation Division in partnership with the Dangerous Drugs Board .

Based on the guidelines, DepEd said that candidates must be a learner from public secondary schools or Grades 10 and 12 students. The learner must also “have an active involvement in various drug abuse prevention activities,” must be “drug-free” and with good moral character certified by the School Guidance Counselor or School Head.
