DAVAO CITY – The Davao Oriental Provincial Medical Center (DOPMC) will temporarily be ceasing its operation starting Monday, January 25, due to a surge in the number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases recorded in its compound.

In a public advisory, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Reden V. Versaldo said DOPMC will be closed for a period of 10 to 14 days. “During this time, DOPMC will be undergoing massive disinfection, isolation, and risk testing of all remaining employees and contacts,” Versaldo said while noting that there will be no new admissions or emergency cases during the temporary closure period.
