MANILA, Philippines — COVID-19 cases in the City of Manila are decreasing, independent analytics group OCTA Research said Tuesday. According to OCTA Research, Manila recorded 1,210 new COVID-19 cases on January 17 based on the report of the Department of Health . The group said this is the lowest in the city since January 4.“The 7-day average of new cases decreased from 1,958 to 1,829 or a 7% decrease. The reproduction number in Manila decreased to 1.73, or less than 2 infections per infected individual, from 4.30 just a week prior,” OCTA Research fellow Guido David said over Twitter.

New cases in Manila have been decreasing. Weekly growth rate at -7% and reproduction number at 1.73. Hopefully, NCR follows this trend. Let's continue to mask up.
