For the first time, different Christian denominations will be attending the Red Wednesday activity of the Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) on November 27 at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros.

ACN National Director Jonathan Luciano said they were invited to attend since the event pays tribute to Christian martyrs.

According to Luciano, Christianity remain the most persecuted religion in the world and based on the 2018 Religious Freedom Report, there are 300 million Christians around the world who are oppressed and persecuted. Still, he said the Philippines was not exempt from religious persecution and this was particularly true in some parts of Mindanao such as in Marawi, Jolo and Basilan.
