MANILA - The government should consider a "calibrated easing" of the enhanced community quarantine over Luzon because the Philippine economy cannot afford an extension of the lockdown, the head of a foundation backed by the country's biggest business groups said on Sunday.
"So extending it in its current fashion will provide an even bigger hit to the economy and I don’t think we can afford that," Luz said in an interview with ANC. He said this means "not letting everybody off quarantine right way" especially vulnerable groups like the elderly and those with preexisting medical conditions.
Theoretically correct. We need to protect the economy and ensure social order. Mechanics of implementation must be calibrated. Inputs of medical and public health experts must be factored in so safeguards will be embedded into the implementation plans.
You rush into easing quarantine bow when the infection has not peaked and you will just kill millions. The impatience of people is what will make covid19 such a massive killer
Totoally agree with this...
yes, totally agree. we need to take precautions but we also need to make a living. by easing up step by step on the total lockdown we can resume a degree of normalcy for life to go on despite the situation
It is supposed to be calibrated, unless we want a resurgence. Until a vaccine is found or the epidemic burns out, it will be a series of quarantines, then loosening restrictions, then quarantines again.
